The Sonoran Glass Art Show is an artist run event at the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show, which features skilled and talented contemporary glass beadmakers from around the country. First started three years ago in 2015 by Doug Harroun as the Tucson Glass Art & Bead Festival, the show moved to its new location at the Sonoran Glass School last year, a fitting venue as the annual host of the Flame Off. A fiery competition where glass torchworkers work against the clock to make the best creation according to the year's theme, the Flame Off is a time-honored treasure of the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show to those in the know. This year, the Flame Off will take place from 7 - 11 PM, on February 2, with doors opening at 5:30 PM. Admission to the Sonoran Glass Art Show is free and open to the public. Tickets for the Flame Off are $20.
