Do It, Don’t Do It Pin by F. Dagg of ceramic.

This pin was inexpensive, and made from a thin sheet of ceramic. Those who are familiar with F. Dagg’s work will be aware of the expressive characters that adorn these miniature portraits. With watercolor-esque bold strokes, Dagg has highlighted the dualism of this caricature’s dilemma. The undertone of rebelliousness, of ambiguity and doubt, is a mix of qualities that my mother would have found very endearing. Mystery and the ineffable were part of the magic of the world, and in Dagg’s brooch, she found someone who recognized this potent mixture.
