PALOS VERDES ART CENTER hosts “California Rising: Beauty By Hand,” a new Southern California craft fair, from August 22 through August 23, 2026. The Palos Verdes Art Center comes together with local Californian craft activists to put on this special show, presenting thirty-five accomplished craftspeople from across California in honor of Handwork: Celebrating American Craft 2026. Attending artists include Paul Brayton, Adrian Sandstrom, Anne Olsen Daub, Lisette Thierry, Beanie Kaman, Da Aie Park, Joan Robey, Regina Vorgang, Joan Takayama-Ogawa, Leslie Rosdol, Kathleen Klein-Wakefield, Michael F. Rohde, Cheryl Ann Thomas, Carrie Burckle, Meredith Strauss, Barbara Danzi, Rachel Shimpock, Joshua Saltman, Elaine Hyde, Peggy Sivert, Bill Meek, Harold Greene, Mona & Alex Szabados, Tzipora Hoynik, Marianne and Bill Hunter, Deborah Cross, Randy Stromsoe, Robert Miller, Eric Silva, Audrey Jung, Suzi Click, Valerie Mitchell, the work of Michael Norman Bayes, Terry de Castro, Michael Freitas Wood, and Cindy Keefer. There will also be a small sale and exhibition of the work of Mila Gokhman, a Ukrainian Jewish immigrant who survived the Soviet Union, and who pioneered leather jewelry and wearables.
