National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) – Melbourne hosts “Westwood | Kawakubo” through April 19, 2026. This international exhibition pairs the work of Vivienne Westwood (1941–2022) and Rei Kawakubo (1942–) of Comme des Garçons. Emerging in the 1970s, both rebelled against rigid social expectations to find artistic and economic freedom through fashion. Self-taught iconoclasts who challenged the ‘rules’ of dress, their work is grounded in the desire for change. Also showing through May 3, 2026 is “Let’s Party: Fashion for Kids. Designed by Danielle Brustman,” and “Dior In The NGV Collection,” which concludes March 1, 2026. Finally, “Made To Move Australian Jewellery 1960–2020” has been extended through August 2026.
